Our client is a small testing centre providing pharmaceutical outsourcing solutions as part of a global multi-sector testing service company. They predominantly offer early phase services covering formulation, analytical method development, regulatory work and small scale GMP manufacture for clinical trials, as well as stability storage and testing. The pharmaceuticals division is a key focus for growth for the parent company and they have a need to introduce new talent to help them achieve these aims.
They currently have a vacancy for an Operations Manager to lead a team of Drug Development and Storage Stability Analysts reporting directly to the General Manager Pharmaceuticals as part of the management team. This role holds responsibility for operational duties but there is also a strong element of business development involved establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of clients.
Candidate profile:
· Graduate in Chemistry/Pharmaceuticals/life sciences, with a higher degree preferred
· 5-10 years experience in a research environment, utilising analytical chemistry techniques, in the Pharmaceutical Industry
· Highly organised with ability to manage and develop diverse groups of people
· High degree of customer focus
· Ability to deliver change management
· Implementation of efficiencies to drive cost savings (Lean Lab and 5S)
· High level of motivation and leadership skills
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
· Commitment to quality
· Independent thinker with ability to review scientific data and propose new courses of action
